Local musician, David Giles (aka David Goo) plays Putney. Alternative melodic rock (think Beatles, Bowie) on piano and guitar.
David has played several concerts at St Margaret’s which have been immensely popular.
David Giles (aka David Goo) is a performer/composer/teacher who lives just at the top of Putney Lane. You've probably seen him around chasing or cleaning up after one of his sons or daughter. For many years he wrote fun music in the spirit of Frank Zappa or The Blues Brothers and then he got all 'serious' and wrote a bunch of rock operas about relationships and raising up kids. He's gone full circle now and is currently recording a bunch of fairly mad songs with his BFF (Best Friend Forever) that they both wrote together in their adolescent years. One of them was released last week. His set will most likely veer between the serious stuff, the slightly mad adolescent stuff, and compositions he's written for various commissions. Maybe even a cover or two.
